Setkání skupiny probíhají v angličtině a konají se jednou měsíčně. Pro květnovou Čtenářskou skupinu jsme vybrali knihu Marlona Jamese A Brief History of Seven Killings. Kniha vyhrála prestižní cenu Man Booker Prize 2015 a vypráví o pokusu o vraždu Boba Marleyho. 3. prosince 1976, dva dny před Marleyho koncertem Smile Jamaica Concert, vnikli do jeho domu ozbrojení muži a málem zabili jeho, jeho ženu a manažera. Marley přesto koncert 5. prosince odehrál, o den později ale Jamaiku opustil a dva roky se nevrátil.
Knihu si můžete vyzvednout v Zahraničních knihovnách ve 2. poschodí. K dispozici je omezený počet výtisků.

To reserve the book please write to: zhr@mzk.cz. This month A Brief History of Seven Killings will be read. A book that won a Man Booker Prize in 2015. The book tells a story about Reggae superstar Bob Marley. On December 3, 1976,
just before the Jamaican general election and two days before Bob Marley
was to play the Smile Jamaica Concert, gunmen stormed his house,
machine guns blazing. The attack nearly killed the Reggae superstar, his
wife, and his manager, and injured several others. Marley would go on
to perform at the free concert on December 5, but he left the country
the next day, not to return for two years.
