Services of Circulation Desk

• Registration of new readers
• Arrangement of absence loans of items retrieved from closed or open stacks (a reader is obliged to sign a receipt)
• Pick up books ordered from closed stacks (those with the status of “Jen do studovny”). Please remember to return borrowed books at the counter as they are evidenced on your account.
• Book return
• Charging cards for printing and copying
• Providing information on library stock, on how to search in catalogues and procedures when borrowing books
• Searching for documents in electronic and card catalogues
• The majority of library items are stored in closed stacks and after being ordered through the on-line catalogue are prepared for the reader in the Loans Collection Section located on the ground floor, loans can usually be collected within 1 hour of making the order
• Should books and music materials be retrieved from the closed stacks on the day of order it is necessary to order them prior to 6 p.m. or prior to 1:30 p.m. on Saturdays
• Books brought upon request from depositories outside Brno (within one week), will also be prepared in the self-service book corner on the ground floor
• You will receive an e-mail notice when the ordered books or music materials is available for collection.

• The MZK library stock and services
• How to search for and order publications.

In-house loans (those with the status of “Jen do studovny”), music Sheets, CD and LP from the closed stacks may only be borrowed by registered users (enter your request in the online catalogue, pick up books on the 4th floor at the loan desk in the Humanities Reading Room), bound periodicals on the 2nd floor in Periodical and Standards Reading Room. Books are reserved for a maximum period of 5 days.
