- over 20 thousand volumes of encyclopedias, dictionaries and the most frequently used study literature
- The literature is organized thematically according to the International Decimal Classification (division of fields by study centers).

- we offer advice on how to search in the MZK catalogue, consultation and instruction on searching electronic information sources
- upon request, we will prepare a bibliographic search using the available information source
- there is a fee for this service, delivery time varies according to the difficulty of the query
Study room equipment
- In the study room you will find 14 computers (Linux operating system) + 2 computers with access to ČSN Online + 1 computer designed for working with electronic attachments to publications from the study room
- 2 self-service copiers/printers - to use them you need to have credit on your library card + self-service scanner
- 193 study places, of which 48 places on the 7th floor

We acquired German DIN standards from 1993 to 2000, including drafts and preliminary standards. We also preserve German standards from 1978–1992, but this collection is not complete. The collection includes the following standards:
- DIN,
- DIN VDE (Verein deutscher Elektrotechniker),
- DIN VDI (Verein deutscher Ingenieure),
- DIN EN (Europäische Norm),
- DIN EN ISO,
- DIN ISO (International Organization for Standardization),
- DIN ETS (European Telecommunication Standard),
- DIN IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission).
German standards are intended for full-time study only and may not be copied. DIN standards in the MZK collection are exclusively in German, the English version is not available in the MZK. Request German DIN standards from the service in the Natural and Technical Sciences study room on the 6th floor.

Patents of the Czech Republic (until 1992 Czechoslovak)
The MZK collected all printed materials from 1919 to 2015. Patent documents are only available for loan in person, copying is possible.
Czechoslovak and Czech patent documents are available free of charge in full text in the Patent and Utility Model Database.
