Complete conditions of the current operation of the library

For the period the Moravian Library was closed due to the pandemic, readers are not charged fines for delay. When extending the annual passes, the validity will be extended not by one year, but by 14 months.

The circulation desk on the ground floor and the study rooms are open according to the following opening hours:

On Mondays and Thursdays the study room of manuscripts and early printed books is only available upon prior reservation via email rukopisy@mzk.cz. Please send reservations, including orders, two working day in advance.

HOW THE STUDY ROOS WORK

• science and technology reading room on the 6th floor and foreign libraries on the 2nd and 3rd floor are closed due to carpet replacement
• books from reading rooms that are closed can be ordered online
• study room on the 7th floor is open, we apologize for increased noise 
• silent places for studying you can also find in gallery on the ground floor and in the room on 1st floor that usually serve as team study roomm
• use disinfection regularly
• computers in study rooms are designed only for searching in library sources (catalogue, Knihovny.cz portal, licensed el. databases, Digital libraries)

WHO CAN USE THE LIBRARY SERVICES

• due to reconstruction work only readers with valid registration will be able to use the library services, ID cards will be checked on the ground floor when entering the library

HOW TO BE BEHAVE IN THE LIBRARY

• nose and mouth protection and two-meter social distancing is now voluntary
• use disinfection regularly
• be considerate of other readers

PAYING FINES, EXTENDING REGISTRATION OR NEW REGISTRATION

• all payments can be done online - you can pay fines and fees for extending your registration this way

• if you want to register for the whole year, the whole process, including the payment of the fee, can be done online via electronic pre-registration or via a validated My ID account, after which you can order books directly; when visiting the library for the first time, it is only necessary to have a reader's card issued at the circulation desk (you need an identity card, students need their ISIC card)
• for a pass for a period shorter than a year (a half-year pass, a monthly pass) you can pre-register, but the fee must be paid in person at the circulation desk

HOW RESEARCH AND REFERENCE SERVICES WORK

• Registered readers (except students) can still order research and reference services via e-mail
• we prefer individual consultations via e-mail; if you want a personal consultation, please make an appointment in advance, all information and contacts can be found here

WHAT IS NOT POSSIBLE DURING THE RESTRICTED OPERATION

• MyID account validation
• using the team and the quiet study rooms
• Moravian Library will not provide any cultural or educational programme during this period

HOW HYGIENE IS ENSURED BY THE MORAVIAN LIBRARY

• all Moravian Library employees must disinfect their hands regularly
